This was my first visit to Corner 75 under its new management, and while I came in a little skeptical, I left genuinely impressed. They’ve clearly preserved the soul and beautiful flavours that made Corner 75 special, while subtly elevating the experience for modern diners.
We started with the lángos, which was absolutely outstanding, crisp, indulgent, and deeply comforting. The cucumber with pumpkin seed oil was another standout, simple but beautifully balanced. I also loved the goulash and matzo ball, both rich, warming, and done with care.
The real highlight for me was the paprikash with nokedli, deeply flavourful and incredibly satisfying. The pork schnitzel was excellent too, with a breadcrumb crust that was light, crunchy, and perfectly golden. The creamed spinach was delicious and instantly nostalgic, the kind of dish that feels like home.
Dessert was a perfect close. The cherry dumplings, apricot crêpe, and sour cream ice cream were all spot on and rounded out the meal beautifully.
The only minor downside was the acoustics, as it did get quite loud with a full house and we found ourselves raising our voices a bit. That said, it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the overall experience.
All in all, I still absolutely love Corner 75, and it’s reassuring to see it in such good hands under new management. I’ll definitely be back.

Such a wonderful experience. A warm welcome to start with, attentive service, such wonderful decor and the food is incredible.
Love Baba’s Place so this was always going to be good.
The breads - ridiculous. Could have stayed and just ate plentiful of this.
Sausage - still repeating on me now, exactly what you want from a sausage!
Schnitzel - visited specifically for this. Incredibly light batter, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Just ridiculous.
Such a great experience. Reasonably priced also.

My recent experience at this restaurant was absolutely outstanding. It’s impossible to recommend it enough!
The culinary quality was high—the food was delicious—but it was the perfect service that made the visit truly memorable. I thoroughly enjoyed the excellent Hortobágyi, and the strudel that followed was nothing short of incredible; it is, without question, the finest strudel I have ever eaten.
The entire staff team was incredibly friendly. Furthermore, the manager deserves special recognition: they kindly provided bread on the house, which was a thoughtful gesture that allowed me to savor every last bit of the Hortobágyi sauce. It’s rare to feel so genuinely welcomed and well cared for!

The restaurant experience made us feel as though we were at their family table. From the warm welcome and introductions, to the stories behind each of the dishes and the attentive and thoughtful service, everyone should make the trip to Corner 75. With Hungarian heritage, it was a special family lunch experience to take my dad and evoked a real sense of nostalgia. Thank you team for such a memorable experience.

As a Hungarian, I genuinely wanted to enjoy this restaurant. Sadly, I left thoroughly disappointed. If I hadn’t read the menu, I would have struggled to recognize most of the dishes, or even guess that this was meant to be Hungarian cuisine. The selection is extremely limited, with only three main courses, and many of the items offered aren’t even Hungarian at all.
It feels as though the dishes were chosen for their ease and speed rather than authenticity, with recipes altered and simplified to allow for quicker preparation and higher customer turnover. Usually, when traditional dishes are given a modern twist, they become lighter and healthier. Here, the opposite was true: everything was heavier and less healthy than it should be.
I consider this restaurant not just a disappointment, but an affront to Hungarian culinary culture. It’s a real shame that someone’s first encounter with so-called Hungarian food might be here. My advice is simple: either learn how to prepare true Hungarian dishes, or consider closing this sorry excuse for a Hungarian restaurant.
On a positive note, the service was attentive and the waitstaff were friendly, thank you for that. You did your best, it is not your fault that the owner of the restaurant was born without taste buds.

Wow absolutely amazing. The food was incredible from start to finish. The wait staff were excellent, timing the rate the food came out perfectly. Some of the highlights were the Langos and Sour cream, Oyster mushroom hortobágyi palacsinta, Gulyásleves and Apple Strudel. The interior was amazingly decorated with hints to classic Hungarian football culture littered across the walls. As far as Hungarian food goes in Sydney it doesn’t get any better than this.

Our experience at NEW Corner 75 can be summarised in two words – TOTAL DISASTER!!
I have been coming to this restaurant for over three decades. It was always superb, one of the best restaurants in Sydney. What happened? The answer is simple ... new owners, new management.
The restaurant now has nothing in common with Hungary. The menu has shrunk by at least 80 percent. There were only three main courses available, all of them terribly overpriced. The goulash soup, served in a tiny bowl about 5 cm in diameter, cost $10. The pork schnitzel was $38 and came on its own with no side dishes. A small bowl of spinach was $18.
While the service was attentive, that was the only thing worth complimenting. The place used to be vibrant, and you could hear Hungarian spoken everywhere, as most of the patrons were Hungarian. This time, there were hardly any Hungarian customers. The majority were Aussies and Asians who may not know what authentic Hungarian food should taste like. The pattern in the 5-star reviews is concerning. They mostly come from Australian or Asian reviewers, while there are hardly any strongly positive reviews from diners who seem knowledgeable about Hungarian cuisine. That raises doubts about the restaurant’s authenticity
This place is neither authentic nor Hungarian. Run away as fast as you can.
And let’s not forget the Valentine’s Day “special” — duck in plum sauce for $80. I didn’t even get the chance to find out whether it was a half or a quarter, but I was advised by the waiter that it came on its own and that side dishes were extra.
In summary, the current Corner 75 is a perfect recipe for ruining and destroying what was once one of the best home-cooking establishments in Sydney. At this rate, I would not be surprised if the place shuts down within 12 months.

Had an amazing dinner at this restaurant tonight! The food was incredibly unique and full of flavour, it’s not something you find often in Sydney, and it was such a refreshing change.
The lady who served us was absolutely lovely. Her friendliness and great service made the whole experience even better for us.
We left satisfied and will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for something special and authentic. Can’t wait to come back and try the other dishes.
